Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. I’m sure many babies were born last week on July eleventh, or 7/11; however there was one West Virginia baby born who was born on 7/11 at 7/11. A couple were on their way to the hospital to deliver their third child, but the baby couldn’t wait. As the father frantically drove toward the hospital, the mother announced the baby was coming. The father pulled the car over into the closest parking lot which happened to be a 7/11 convenience store. I don’t know how convenient the timing was, but the parking lot certainly was convenient. I am happy to report that mom and baby are doing fine and gave 7/11 one more reason to celebrate. You see, 7/11 is 7/11’s birthday and free Slurpee day as well, so the celebration was already on: now 7/11 had another birthday to celebrate! 7/11 turned 95 years old on 7/11 and baby Wayne Bush turned zero. Not only that, but the baby’s 5 and 7 year old siblings watched everything go down from the back seat of the car—I’m sure they had a lot of questions for their parents afterwards. Conception and birth is an amazing and beautiful miracle from Almighty God regardless of when and how it occurs. Human life is created in the image of God; therefore all human life must be protected at all stages and at all costs. When it comes to birthdays, why do we celebrate the child who did nothing but show up? Why not celebrate the mothers who did all the work or God Himself Who made birthdays possible in the first place?
